Bongeunsa Temple
A temple in Gangnam right across from the giant COEX mall! Can get your spiritual fix then shop your heart out. If that’s what you’re into.
I checked out this temple after work one day, I was very taken with it. Unfortunately I was a bit under the weather when I visited, so I wasn’t really up to sketching on site.
But I did take a ton of pictures & found a lot of great inspiration for future projects. So I would like to share some of those photographs.
But first, let me show you where Bongeunsa is located on Naver Map & Kakao Map

Here are some images of more buildings!

Something I found very beautiful was the painted ceiling, they look like tiles but it’s really just painted to look that way. It’s actually looks to be made of wood.
I think the most breath taking part of visiting Bongeunsa is the statues. I took many, many, pictures, but here are a select few.

Lastly, I always like to take a close look at things. The details, the ornate extra stuff. So here are some close ups of creatures I saw on a statue. I think these are some of my favorite things I saw that day - I want to draw some animals just like it.
